Edinburgh Gin launch a fresh new springtime gin

Look around you. Despite the temperatures staying low, it’s easy to see signs that spring has sprung. That’s something worth celebrating and what better way than with a brand new springtime gin from the brilliant folks at Edinburgh Gin?

Edinburgh Gin’s new Orange & Basil Gin is handcrafted using a blend of traditional gin botanicals mixed with sweet orange peel and fresh basil leaf. The crisp, fruity combo blends the sweetness from the Valencian orange and the subtle herbal, basil goodness perfectly.

Using both fresh and dried Valencian orange peel, the distillers have created fresh, crisp, citrus notes that delicately balance with a subtle sweetness. The fresh basil is vapour infused giving the gin a refined aroma and deliciously smooth and aromatic taste – the perfect Spring tipple.

Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil is now available for £28 (70cl) from edinburghgin.com, Amazon, Booths and John Lewis & Partners.

The Orange & Basil expression joins Edinburgh Gin’s range alongside their other full-strength gin offerings such as – Edinburgh Gin’s Classic Gin, Rhubarb & Ginger, Gooseberry & Elderflower and Lemon & Jasmine.

Jetting off to the sun? Good news! Edinburgh Gin Orange & Basil will be listed with easyJet and be exclusive to the airline within the Global Travel Retail channel for seven months. Passengers can buy or pre-order 1L bottles from the on-board duty-free shop and also enjoy 5cl bottles served from the in-flight bar.

Speaking on the launch, David Wilkinson, Head Distiller at Edinburgh Gin says:

“We are constantly inspired by the world around us and exploring what is next in the world of Full-Strength Flavoured Gins.

“Our Orange & Basil Gin combines two popular flavours that are not usually seen together in gin. A combination of fresh and dried orange peels adds a sweet citrus flavour which plays nicely off the juniper. The basil gives a warm, herbal aroma and adds a savoury depth to the gin’s aftertaste.”
