Stirling Distillery is given a Travellers Choice Award

If there was ever a distillery steeped in Scottish history it is Stirling Distillery Located in the shadow of Stirling Castle, it is the city’s first legal distillery. Offering a range of gins and whisky’s all with historic relevance, the distillery is usually open daily for tours, tastings and a weekly gin school.

And now, the team are celebrating recognition for their work as they have been awarded a coveted Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award which recognises businesses that earn consistently great tourist reviews, and have also been shortlisted at the Scottish Gin Awards in two categories.

To qualify for a Travellers’ Choice award, businesses must “maintain an overall Tripadvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have received a minimum number of reviews in the 12-month period that the data was analysed and been listed on Tripadvisor for at least one year”. The distillery has welcomed over 6,000 visitors since May 2021 when it re-opened its doors following the most recent lockdown across Scotland. With a distillery tour, daily gin and whisky tastings, a weekly gin school and monthly live music nights – plus the distillery shop, there are always guests coming through the distillery doors.

Sat in the shadow of Stirling Castle, many visitors come to the distillery on their way down the castle rock.

The distillery’s Battle Strength Gin which sits at 55% and their popular Tropical Triumph liqueur have both been shortlisted in the high strength and gin liqueur gin liqueur categories in the upcoming gin awards.

Inspired by the famous battle of Stirling Bridge, Battle Strength Gin sits at 55% and carries a huge hit of juniper and pepper. Sealed with a hand-dipped wax seal and carrying unique illustrations by Ritchie Collins, this bottle combines the flavour of Stirling Gin with the bloody history of the city. Tropical Triumph Liqueur is bottled at 25% ABV. Reminiscent of warm Caribbean breezes, mango and passionfruit lead on the palate with subtle hints of pineapple elevating citrus notes. The fruity sweetness is balanced by herbal notes peeking through from the Stirling Gin base. The result is a fresh and fruity liqueur with a smooth and refreshing finish.

Follow the distillery’s social media channels as they document the evening and share all the winners on the night. If either of their gins win, the distillery will be offering 10% off these products for the following week to celebrate!
