Coasting the citrusy flavours with Rock Rose’s new release

The talented team behind our current Featured Gin, Dunnet Bay Distillers, have announced the release of a new gin expression and we are loving the sound of this one! Rock Rose will launch a Citrus Coastal Edition of its award-winning Premium Scottish Gin.

The new Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition is described as ‘flavourful and fresh, zesty and with a bracing sea air finish’. The Caithness sustainably-run family business originally created this expression in partnership with the Craft Gin Club in 2020 and it was so well received by their members that they decided to make it available to the public. And aren’t we glad!

Martin Murray, co-founder of Dunnet Bay Distillery, commented: “We are delighted to have created our Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition Gin, our most experimental variant to date. It is inspired by the local Caithness coastline, in the most northerly part of mainland Scotland where the air is clean and fresh. The idea is that, when tasting this expression, if you close your eyes you can picture being on a beach on one of the most beautiful stretches of the UK shoreline.”

Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition distilled using kelp which gives a costal flavour to the gin which is finished by hints of lemon verbena picked from the Distillery garden.

The result is a soft and sweet gin that is best served with tonic, ice and a slice of grapefruit. Ready to try it? You’ll be able to buy if from the Distillery website at the end of the month!
