Launch of One Square Gin Batch 4

We were very lucky to be invited to celebrate the launch of the fourth batch of One Square Gin at The Sheraton Grand, Edinburgh.

One Square

This exclusive small-batch gin was first produced in 2015 and is distilled by the team behind Pickering’s Gin at Summerhall Distillery. The recipe was apparently inspired by the diverse selection of gins stocked by One Square, (which features more than 105 varieties!), and is created using a combination of 15 botanicals including Scottish heather and Mediterranean liquorice.

We were delighted to be among the first to try the new and improved One Square Perfect Serve created in partnership with Cushiedoos Scottish Tonic. Cushiedoos uses only natural Scottish ingredients, making for a fully Scottish One Square Perfect Serve.

One Square Gin

It was a fantastic evening, we escaped the humidity of the Edinburgh heatwave to the stylish surroundings of One Square, where we sampled combinations using the latest batch of the premium gin brand, including the One Square Perfect Serve, One Square Gin Martinis and One Square Gin Cocktails.

Moving out to the One Square Terrace, we were offered ice creams flavoured with juniper (a main ingredient of One Square Gin) and grapefruit (the One Square Gin garnish) as well as canapés, botanical ice lollies and flavoured popcorn.

We chatted to the passionate, friendly and knowledgeable staff who create the perfect serves, cocktails and run their in-house gin school, “Ginnasium”.

And to top it off, we took home a goody bag with samples of One Square Batch 4 and Cuchiedoos tonic.

So, what of the gin?  We loved the initial hit of juniper, followed by zesty citrus, that combine in a wonderfully smooth tasting gin, ideal for cocktails, but wonderful served with Cushiedoos Scottish tonic.
