Stirling Distillery announces dates for tours to resume

As we head into the early stages of lockdown easing, it’s very exciting for us to see some of the fantastic Scottish Gin Distilleries planning the resumption of their tours and tastings events. We’ve all seen quite enough of our own houses, so with social distancing and safety precautions in place, we will definitely be booking a few afternoons out for the coming summer months!

We’ve received the delightful news that the Old Smiddy, a truly unique distillery experience are open again for bookings and tours will resume from 17th May. Here’s what you can expect:

You will be welcomed to the distillery with a bespoke welcome cocktail, shown the stunning Victorian building and seated at your very own mini still. One of the distillery’s passionate staff members will then give you a rundown of gin’s history, from its medical uses to binge drinking in the slums of London all the way through to today’s Scottish gin craze. They will then talk you through the science of gin distilling and show you a selection of beautiful botanicals which you will choose from to make an entirely unique gin all of your own. Over two hours you will charge your still, choose your flavours, test the gin as it comes off the condenser and bottle it with your personalised Old Smiddy Gin School label to take home. To finish up, you will enjoy a Stirling Gin perfect serve alongside a G&T made from your very own creation.

How good does that sound? To book your place visit their website – Please note that these events are for adults aged 18 years and over only and cost £90.00 per person / £125 for two people (two people option is sharing the experience on one still)
