First gin from new Ardross Distillery to capture the spirit of the Picts

An exciting new Scottish Gin is due to be released this autumn, the first spirit produced by the brand new Ardross Distillery, set deep in the Scottish Highlands in the ruins of a 19th-century farmhouse. And a limited-edition batch has already been released that has been blended and bottled in Scotland.

Theodore Gin is the first release from Greenwood Distillers and features 16 botanicals inspired by those that the Picts may have encountered on their travels to Scotland when they settled near the brand’s new home in the Northern Highlands

These botanicals include pomelo, pine, damask rose, honey and oolong tea, creating a fresh and elegant gin with a floral heart and warm, rich finish. The new gin is said to be ‘Scottish by birth and Pictish by nature’.

A limited-edition batch of the gin has been produced as the result of a transcultural collaboration with Master Blenders from, and liquid produced in, Cognac and London, then blended and bottled in Scotland. Following this batch, Theodore Gin will be the first spirit produced at the new Ardross Distillery.

Theodore has been created with guidance from perfume designer, Barnabé Fillion, and is presented in a beautiful bespoke bottle and box, which features artwork of the Picts and the 16 botanicals within the gin commissioned from illustrator Carlotta Saracco.

We look forward to bringing you more news about the opening of the Ardross Distillery in due course.

In the meantime, the limited-edition batch of Theodore Gin is available to buy now for £39.95 RRP or £45 RRP with gift box from Theodore-gin.com, The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and DrinkSupermarket.
