Pink Elderflower & Jasmine Gin joins the Secret Garden Gin family

We have come to expect the unexpected, even the magical from the curious and sage team at the Old Curiosity Distillery, based in the blissful surroundings of The Secret Herb Garden. So, the launch of their latest offering: Pink Elderflower & Jasmine Gin, was not surprising, but still very exciting.

The ingredients for their unique range of Secret Garden Gins (Apothecary Rose, Lavender & Echinacea, Chamomile & Cornflower, Damask Rose, Geranium & Mallow and Lemon Verbena) are chosen for their botanical properties and harvested on site from their extensive botanical gardens.

So, what can we expect from the latest addition to the family, Pink Elderflower & Jasmine Gin? Well, we think it’s best you hear it in their own words:

The Elder tree is one of the most sacred things that grow on the British Isles, steeped in mystery and folklore and worshipped by our ancestors since we first arrived on these shores. And rightly so: an Elder tree outside your door was reckoned to keep evil ‘fluences away – the Elder Mother living in its trunk saw to that – and we have used her bark, leaves, flowers and berries to treat every human ailment you can think of (and plenty you can’t) for centuries.

Jasmine is renowned in Eastern history thanks to its unmatchable fragrance; wearing a jasmine flower in your hair is part of every tradition and ceremony from cradle to grave but to us in the West, its beguiling scent is synonymous with desire.

To match these noblest of plants we distilled them over our crisp dry base, carefully balancing the delicate aromas and flavours to create a sensual and intriguing drink that feels like the delicate kiss of a lover on the back of the neck on a summer’s day.

Like the other gins in the Secret Garden range, the new Pink Elderflower & Jasmine gin is also colour changing – it goes from a blush pink to a fluorescent pink with the addition of tonic!

Enjoy this most curious of gins with the lightest tonic you can find and, as always, enjoy it responsibly.
