Shetland Reel’s Filska Gin launched

Originally a secret, known only to members of the Craft Gin Club, who received a bottle in their November 2018 parcel, Filska Gin from Shetland Reel has been so well received, it has now been launched UK-wide.

The local Shetland dialect has Nordic and Scottish roots, and Filska means
high-spirited and flighty, which was the inspiration for this citrusy, zesty red grapefruit gin.

The gin is handcrafted in the distillery’s 100-litre copper still, where the key botanicals (including juniper, coriander, cinnamon, angelica root, orris root and almond) are left overnight before distillation begins. The gin is then bottled at 40% ABV.

Tasting Notes
A citrus-led, well-balanced gin with just 8 botanicals, where the
aromatic peels and filtered juice are bound together by the warmth of cinnamon and flavour fixative orris root.
Perfect Serve
50ml Shetland Reel Filska
Fever Tree Original Tonic
Slice of red grapefruit
Serve with ice
