Arbikie Stirs Its Way to become World Martini Champions

Another title in the bag for Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year Arbikie, winning the prestigious World Martini Championships in London.  Featuring gins from all over the world Scotland’s leading field to bottle distiller was crowned the winner at Olso Bar in Hackney London.

Arbikie in partnership with bartender Francesco Petracci of the world-renowned The Gibson in London fought off tough competition with their Showcase Martini Recipe bringing home the title of the ‘World’s Best Martini, 2018’. Their combination of Arbikie AK’s Gin, Sea Herbs Vermouth and Smoked Liquid garnished with lemon zest and served with style, created a unique and innovative twist on the classic Martini that impressed judges Mark Ludmon of Bar Magazine, Annie Hayes of Master of Malt and Witek Wojaczek of Artesian Bar at The Langham.

Arbikie AK’s Gin named after the father of the Stirling Brothers uses fresh honey and wheat grown on the Arbikie farm and was first released via the Craft Gin Club in December 2016.  The gin is a delicate balance between sweet and spice notes and uses Viscount Wheat grown on the Arbikie farm.

Alexander Forsyth, Arbikie Global Brand Ambassador commented:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award and all credit must go to Francesco at The Gibson who worked incredibly hard to create a superb twist on the classic martini whilst maintaining the delicate flavours of AK’s Gin. We can’t wait to defend our title next year.”
