Cairngorm Gin is inspired by the ‘land we live in’. Jack Smith who hails from the Cairngorms, used his surrounds as inspiration – using a combination of 9 botanicals and the freshest water from the River Spey, which Jack collects and filters himself. The finest juniper, cloudberries, elderflower and Caledonian pine are partnered with coriander seed, orris root, sweet orange peel, angelica and kaffir lime to create a wonderfully refreshing aromatic gin.
It is believed that this is the first gin in the UK to use cloudberry. Clouberry is an arctic berry which in fact grows on the Cairngorm Mountain summit. The Cairngorm Gin Company are trying to preserve this long forgotten flavour and introduce customers to this long forgotten flavour.
Cairngorm Gin say “each to their own” when it comes to enjoying the gin, but they do recommend serving neat over ice, or with a premium tonic, a slice of green apple, a raspberry and blackberry.
