Cairngorm Gin Company

The Cairngorm Gin Company Ltd was established in 2019. Nestled in a valley beneath the wild and breathtaking Cairngorms Mountain Range in the Highlands of Scotland, Cairngorm Gin is ‘inspired by the land we live in’.

Jack Smith, was born and raised in the valley of the River Spey, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. His family has lived in the Cairngorms National Park for decades, sharing a love and respect for the outdoors and the native flora and fauna that surrounds their home.

Using only the finest botanicals and crystal-clear water from the River Spey to create a small batch premium gin. It is believed that this is the first gin in the UK to use cloudberry. Clouberry is an arctic berry which in fact grows on the Cairngorm Mountain summit, this is distilled with 8 other carefully chosen botanicals.

Distilled in a 50 litre Traditional Copper pot still “Ginger” – they only ever produce up to 70 bottles per batch of this London Dry style gin. Each stage of the process is done by hand at the distillery including bottling and labelling.

This is a truly a homage to family and the amazing Cairngorms; “Ginger” was aptly named after founder Jack Smith’s late Grandfather, a great character rather partial to a Gin and Tonic. In fact, he always maintained it was easier to make a G&T than a cup of tea!
