Tobermory Hebridean Mountain Gin is awarded best Scottish Gin

A limited-edition Scottish Gin, distilled on the isle of Mull has been named the best Scottish Gin in the 2022 World Gin awards.

The Hebridean distillery produces 3 gins, all of which are created using hand-selected botanicals and a splash of spirit from the Tobermory whisky produced at the distillery. But of the 3, the Mountain Gin impressed the World Gin Award judges with its smooth, rich and gently sweet flavours. Inspired by the wild purple heather-clad mountains on the Isle of Mull, the award-winning gin uses botanicals including Hebridean tea, wild heather and a splash of spirit from the Tobermory whisky stills.

Laura Thomson, global brand manager at Tobermory Distillery said: “It’s incredible to impress the World Gin Award judges for a second year in a row.  Every bottle transports drinkers to our beautiful island where this gin takes its inspiration.”

Tobermory took the Country Award for Scotland and also recognised in the global awards was Holyrood Distillery, who won silver with their Height of Arrows Gin, which was also awarded Gin of the Year from The Whisky Exchange!

Scooping prestigious bronze awards in the country category for Scotland were McQueen Highland Dry Gin and Eidyn Scottish Premium Botanical Gin.

We were delighted to see so many Scottish Gins awarded in the various categories of the World Gin Awards, and we raise a glass to celebrate with all of them!
