New fruity ‘R&R’ expression launches from Glaswegin

One of the most sought-after Scottish Gin bottles has to be Glaswegin. And today we can share the news that they have introduced their first-ever flavoured gin product with the launch of a new Glaswegin Raspberry and Rhubarb expression that we’re told is guaranteed to deliver the perfect R&R experience!

Created to celebrate the City of Glasgow and bottled and distilled in the heart of Glasgow’s Tradeston area, the new full-strength flavoured gin is the first foray into the flavoured market for Glaswegin. First distilled in 2018, Glaswegin has taken the market by storm with its no frills, fun and frank packaging, representative of its namesake.

It’s a fruit-driven Raspberry and Rhubarb pink gin that’s bursting with fresh flavour and crafted with ten carefully selected botanicals – Raspberry, Rhubarb, Milk Thistle, Italian Juniper, Russian Coriander, Angelica, Orange and Chamomile Flowers, Bay Leaves and Pink Peppercorns – providing a warm raspberry jam and candied rhubarb dance up from the glass.

With a soft taste and exceptional lasting flavour, its creamy, vanilla notes are reminiscent of raspberry ripple ice cream that tantalise the taste buds with a fresh, crisp orange flower and lemon peel cutting through for a refreshing, long finish with a pink peppercorn tingle.

In keeping with Glaswegin’s signature award-winning bottle design that’s minimalistic and distinctive, the new R&R product is decorated with its signature white square bottle designed to maximise on-shelf presence.

Glaswegin are encouraging their fans to enjoy a little R&R via an exclusive collaboration with Scotland’s first-ever gin inspired botanical day spa in Glasgow’s Merchant City. With a detailed understanding of botanical ingredients combined with the highest customer service, experiences and indulgent spa treatments, The Gin Spa has created a special customer Glaswegin experience whereby gin enthusiasts can enjoy a tailored Raspberry and Rhubarb Spa package for £115 per person. This includes two, thirty-minute treatments from back, neck and shoulder massages, mini facial, reflexology or awakening eye treatment with a Glaswegin Perfect Serve, Afternoon Tea with Glaswegin R&R cocktail.

Commenting on the launch, Mark Nicholson, Business Development Manager for Courageous Spirits, said:

“We’re excited to bring this new Raspberry and Rhubarb Glaswegin to market, it’s an elegant and exciting fruit-driven, pink gin that perfectly showcases our best-selling gin.  This new product launch first came about because our strong and loyal fan base suggested that we make a flavoured gin, so we listened and created Raspberry and Rhubarb flavoured gin to celebrate Scottish fruit at its best.

Leah Shaw Hawkins, Head of Marketing for Courageous Spirits Ltd added:

“We trialled over 20 different varieties until we found just the right balance of uncompromisingly fruity flavour and refreshment- resulting in a crowd-pleasing new flavoured Glaswegin.

“We reached out to our community to give them the chance of a preview taste with nearly 3000 people applying for taster positions. And the feedback was fantastic.

“It provides a versatile cocktail ingredient, yet it retains the freshness of our original London Dry, which is the current holder of World Gin Awards, Best Scottish London Dry Gin.  We’re confident our first ever flavoured gin will go down a storm all year round as it’s delicious when enjoyed with both tonic and ginger ale.”

With a RRP of £35, the new Glaswegin Raspberry and Rhubarb launches on 9th September with its first appearance at the UK’s ultimate Gin Festival, Gin To My Tonic at the SECC from 10-12th September.
