Shetland Reel reveals details of their 2020 Up Helly Aa Gin

 Every year, on the last Tuesday in January, Lerwick, Shetland, hosts the Up Helly Aa Fire Festival, where the magnificent Guizer Jarl and his squad march the streets in their breathtaking Viking outfits. It’s an incredible spectacle and attracts tourists from around the globe to witness the community-run event.

For the past four years, Shetland Reel Gin have created four amazing limited-edition navy strength cask-aged gins inspired by the festival, each with its own unique twist. 

They have been busy behind the scenes creating 2020’s release, and to mark the start of a new decade, they have decided to shake things up a little. Their fifth expression of Up Helly As has been bottled at 40% ABV rather than the usual navy strength.

Shetland Reel’s Up Helly Aa 2020 Limited Edition Gin will be available to pre-order on Monday 27th January through their mailing list, and exclusively at the Shetland Food and Drink Fair at Mareel.
