Oro Gin cocktails

The Scottish Gin Society was lucky enough to be invited to The Ivy on the Square, Edinburgh, to try out their exclusive Oro Gin cocktails, designed to celebrate World Gin Day.  Of course, we went along and really had a wonderful evening.  It was our first try of Oro Gin and we can tell you, we were very impressed.  We’ll be bringing you more about that soon.  But for now, The Ivy on The Square has kindly allowed us to share the recipes for these two delicious cocktails:

The Melville

Created by The Ivy on the Square using new Scottish Dry Gin Oro, The Melville is a long, cool, refreshing drink perfect for lazy lunches, brunches and light summer evenings.

Ingredients

25ml Oro Gin

25ml Rinquinquin peach aperitif

10ml Lillet Blanc

10ml lemon juice

75ml soda water

5ml Lavender syrup

Ice

Lemon peel to garnish

Method

Using a large wine glass, pour in the Oro Gin, Rinquinquin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and lavender syrup. Fill the glass with ice cubes and top with soda. Garnish with a long strand of lemon peel.

The Multrees

The Multrees is a little more of an after-dark affair, with the rich notes of bitters and liqueur combining to make this a smooth post-dinner delight.

Ingredients

40ml Oro Gin

30ml Cocchi Di Torino vermouth

10ml Maraschino liqueur

Dash Orange bitters

Dash Angostura bitters

Method

Use a standard glass to mix all of the ingredients together before straining the liquid into a martini glass and garnish with an orange twist. Simple and sophisticated.
