Saxa Vord Distillery
The Shetland Reel Distillery Company operate Saxa Vord Distillery, on Unst the only distillery on the Shetland Islands and the most northernly in the UK. It was founded by four people who shared a passion for producing top quality products in local communities.
Over the past eight years, the team have regenerated a former RAF site at Saxa Vord into an award-winning tourist resort with year-round self-catering accommodation, seasonal hostel and bar/restaurant.
The size of the still means it remains one of the smallest commercial distilleries in Scotland. Guided tastings are available if you ever find yourself in the most northerly inhabited island in the UK.
