After the success of the inaugural festival in 2018, we’re back to do it all over again!
2019 marks the centenary of Rita Cowan and Masataka Taketsuru’s first meeting in Kirkintilloch – a somewhat inconspicuous event which literally changed the whisky world. An event which rightly should be remembered and celebrated not only by the whisky community but especially with the community in Kirkintilloch.
Join us in the town where it all began and we are honoured to dedicate the 2019 Spirit of Alba Gin & Whisky Festival to the life, work and legacy of Rita Cowan and Masataka Taketsuru.
